Very few parents have the time to even trim their nasal hair with a baby in tow – let alone take daily video clips of their children from birth up to their first birthday. I should know – I have started one for my daughter when my PT tested positive and now, nearly two years later, it’s still on that scene when my OB announced “Its a girl!”.
…Which makes UK-based video blogger Sam Cornwell a very, very pleasant exemption.
Using his iPhone, this first-time dad took one-second video shots of his son Indigo everyday since he was born on July 9 last year. And man, what a tearjerker that 7-minute video was. That kid’s got a good start with such an awesome dad.
Three otherworldly-cool things I find in this video:
1. Proceeds of the video go to Indigo’s college funds.
2. The soundtrack used (“The Winner Is”) was an ethereal fit. Post rock rules!
3. It has that enigmatic power to make you reminisce your little one’s first year. And make you feel – despite ruffled hair and dwindling sanity – very lucky to be a parent. Yes, even to a toddler.
Thank you, Sam, for this soul-stirring video. Thank you for reminding me of the heartwarming side of parenthood. With a whiny toddler hounding my thighs and clutching my shirt all-day, I tend to forget.
