One of the most exciting things about having a little girl is the wild assortment of cutesy hair accessories a mom could embellish her daughter’s crown with. Ask any mom out there what their top five guilty pleasures are and you’ll probably get “overshopping for baby accessories as an answer” (I know it’s on my list).

Lia’s first lot of accesories. Some were gifts from the sister and an aunt. |
Initially I bought clips, headband and other accessories from Celestina & Co., but found online shops that offered the same high quality designs for lesser costs. Lemme share to you my favorite online shops for infant and tot accessories:
Sassy Hairsies
The pioneer in the business of making cute little things for little girls, You’re bound to find all sorts of things rad and classy at Sassy Hairsies. If you’re mad about flowers, Sassy Hairsies has just about every flower design one can dream of, be it handmade felt roses or synthetic ivies. They also offer cute and fun korker bows and headbands! Designs are chic and more laid-back than other brands, making them versatile for both casual and formal occasions.
*I updated this section and the Celestina & Co. entry below after being informed by Tin of Sassy Hairsies that she started out a year before Celestina. My sincerest apologies for the misinformation.
Celestina & Co.
Celestina & Co. creates all sorts of wonderful, heartwarming baby finds: from cute crochet beanies to feather adorned clippies to tutus. The great thing about Celestina is that they customize according to your preferences and your girl’s age, which is particularly helpful for headbands. Their designs are among the classiest and most elegant ones around, mostly utilizing lace, tulle and organza which render a very frilly, soft, feminine look. Orders are delivered quick and fuss-free, in neat and expensive-looking packaging. Website navigation and transactions are a breeze, too. Expect that the prices are a bit steep here, but no doubt the quality is tip-top.

Lia wears Celestina & Co. Provence headband, classic bows and Little Shang. |
This shop takes rosettes seriously; you’re bound to find quirky and lavish handmade ones. Some products could still use finishing touches, with frilled, irregular edges sometimes hanging out, although I understand her usage of satin ribbons for clippies and headband centerpieces do influence that. Unique, beautiful and leaning towards the upscale side, her pieces are great for formal occasions. Ordering and delivery is fast and efficient, although customer service can still be improved (I once ordered a clip with rhinestone, which arrived with none. Days of waiting for an answer on SMS and FB, and no apologies or money-back was offered. I had to offer a choice myself on how we can settle the additional P20 for the rhinestone – which I hope went to charity ).
 |
To save in the long-term, what I do is I buy clips and separate bands so Lia can use the clips as is or as headbands.
We can easily buy another band if she outgrows them, the clippies can be used at any age.

A new player in the biz, Mai creates one-of-a-kind hair accessories, some of which are made with materials that can not be found elsewhere in the Philippine market. Made of soft and flowy materials, her clips, bows and bands exude a very feminine, classy aura. Centerpieces are unique and simply drool-worthy! Some of her designs are similar to Top Baby’s, but unlike the latter, she can customize according to your baby’s head circumference. They also offer other eclectic items like clip and headband organizers and wrap-around belly trinkets for maternity shoots.

Lady is one of my newer Facebook finds, thanks to a neverending search for tulle. Basically she sells raw materials for the more budget-conscious moms who wish to save huge on bows, clips, headbands and other similar items by creating their own DIYs – although she can also make them for you for a nominal fee. Included in her roster of merchandise are a wide variety of centerpieces; grosgrain, satin and organza ribbons; feathers, metals clips, barrettes, felt, foldover elastics, bottle cap domes, flowers, block letters and tons more. Items can be bought either in retail or wholesale at very affordable prices (Her crochet beanies, for instance, sell for only P70 each. Similar beanies at Celestina & Co. are priced at P165). With the volume of customers she deals with everyday, it may take quite a while for her to respond to queries or to deliver, but otherwise, an accommodating and amiable supplier. Gives freebies too without you asking for it 🙂

Oversized peonies and daisies! These can be bought at P30-P45 from PrettyClipz. |
 |
Absolutely love these neat clips. Customized name clip at P80,
others at P15-P20 each. |
There’s also a similar supplier on Facebook, Mom & Me Bows, that sells entirely just raw materials. I’ve sourced tulle and dowel rods from her for Lia’s upcoming 1st birthday (more on that on a separate post), and her rates are affordable as well. She responds and delivers rather quickly too, and is just as accommodating as Lady.
And yes, she gives away freebies too when you order.
Now I know how you all love to accessorize your little ones too, so as a post-bloggersary treat, I’m giving away lovely accessories from Celestina & Co., Dainty Ashley, PrettyClipz and Fancy Ava to one mom (or dad) PLUS a P250 gift certificate that you can spend on any Dainty Ashley item(s) of your choice (Thank you, Dainty Ashley for the pre-birthday treat!). Sweet, huh?

My youngest has manipis hair, so a headband goes well with her. 🙂 I love to match her outfit with her Top Baby Headbands kasi lalong nakaka kikay.
Nice work on the rosettes, Em! There are other local accessory makers who started messaging me as well, so I will be creating another post soon with a compilation of SME moms to check out 🙂

Warning about Fancy Ava.
I finally
got the package, several weeks delayed, few days before my daughter's
baptism. Customized dress did not have the correct details. Worst of
all, it's full of glitters. And this is for a baby! None of the ordered
two pairs of shoes arrived.
I'm having the dress repaired
somewhere else, additional cost to be shouldered. Might look for shoes too as they are never reachable through any contact number.
I am very disappointed. My calls never get answered. The only time it
was easy to get a reply was when we were talking about the payment I
sent.
Mine may be an isolated case but I feel the need to warn future clients that this horror experience may happen to them too.
Would check out your shop, dear. Thanks for dropping by!
Oh no. I'm so sorry to hear about your experience with Fancy Ava. I agree that it's easier to get a reply from them during preliminary transactions, although my orders arrived on time naman. I did order a rhinestone clippie before, only to find out it has no rhinestone when it arrived. Refund for the additional fee was not issued, although when they found this particular blog post, they offered an apology.
Abi seems like a nice person naman actually. I would suppose, in her best intentions she tries to please customers but maybe she tends to mix things up due to the large volume of customers she has. Perhaps she can make use of better assistants? Hehe. I hope this would come to her attention too so she can better address your concern.
