When a girl becomes a mom, fashion takes a backseat, and soiled nappies and an ever-growing pile of laundry goes right at the forefront.

My usual anyday getup since giving birth:
Boring shirts and oversized maternal wear

Mine was no different case: the minute I bore my cute 7-pound daughter (who just loves to be carried around 24/7 by mommy and nobody but mommy), my penchant for chic ukay-ukay finds and spending hours of window shopping for clothes and shoes was (and just had to be) tucked away somewhere between the sheets and the constant wailing of a newborn.

If only I could find a place to shop for new, non-pregnant mom clothes without leaving the house.

What’s a mom gotta do when she just can’t go out to shop?

Now there’s some major buzz going around for some time now about Zalora, the country’s newest online shopping hub. So I visited the website myself to check what the hubbub
is about; Perhaps see if there’s something I might like. And saw things I like, I did.

Zalora’s a neat place to shop especially for moms like me who have newborns and just can’t get out of the house. Zalora revolutionizes one’s shopping experience by bringing together an extensive suite of ensembles and home must-haves for all genders and ages – from dresses to bed & bath accessories – in a single place. Browsing through Zalora’s catalogue is like walking right into a cyber Walmart, only fuss-free. Everything’s possible with just a few mouse clicks. Its user-friendliness, sleek interface, free nationwide shipping (yes, even for items P200 below!), fast turnaround time, and 30-day return policy are just some of the things why Zalora takes the cake.

And did I mention you get P250 worth of credits when you sign up? I’m getting my little rascal this cutely Tommee Tippee water-filled teether using my free credits 🙂

Zalora also has this nifty Wishlist page where you can gather all your got-to-have finds in the site for future use. Here’s my top 5 picks:

1. Kipling wallet

To be able to tell you why I BADLY need to have this wallet, I need to tell you, too about mine.

This hapless little thing right here is my wallet. It was a gift
from the husband four Christmases back. It’s something I should’ve said goodbye to a long time ago, but since it’s got all my requirements for a wallet (tons of card slots, a coin slot and an extra one for trinkets), I am waivering its DNR sign for the meantime.

That’s a nasty cut right there.

And another one.

And yet another one.

Apart from being sturdy and gorgeous, that Kipling wallet has all the things I need, so I just got to have it!

2. Polka Dot dress from Bayo

I love dresses. They’re a refreshing break from the usual jeans-and-shirt attire that’s so prominent in the country. I am terribly smitten by this dress, and how cute, fun and flirtatious it is at the same time – something I could definitely wear for casual eat-outs and informal affairs.

3. Made U Look gray sleeved maxi dress

I love maxi dresses because they are comfortable, give you much room to move around, yet add that carefree, feminine look to your overall getup. They pair well with tote bags, too(which I’ve lots of, so that’s a plus).

4. W V neck shirred knee length dress

The little black dress is a must-have for every woman’s closet, because they’re versatile and can be worn both for formal and informal occassions. Unfortunately, mine already got too stretched from repetitive wear during my pregnant days. I badly need a replacement and this one’s just perfect!

5. Levi’s sneakers

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to show the husband your appreciation by giving him a cool pair of sneakers? Hey, they too work hard around the house just as we mothers do. A pair of sneakers goes a long way in saying thanks.

It’s time for this momma to update her fashion wardrobe (maybe the husband, too), and get her fashion mojo back.
